What to expect when you order
It is our goal to make the process as straight forward as possible. To start the process, go the store tab and make your selection, half beef or whole beef, and pay the deposit. This process will lock in your order and give us the needed contact info.
Once the they are ready, Gordon Cattle will deliver the beef to Walke Brothers in Claremore, OK. For the 2025 group, that is scheduled for sometime in mid-May (more info as we get closer). The beef will be weighed and the actual rail weight and ear tag # will be provided to you within 1-2 days of drop off. Accurate contact information is important for this step.
Once we have sent ear tag # and rail weights, we will send an invoice for your beef (blue line in table below). There will be several options to pay the invoice using check, credit card, or other digital methods. Please note, paying from the link in the invoice will result in an additional 3.5% processing charge.
During this time, you can go to Walke Brothers website and complete their online cutting card (link at bottom), referencing the previously provided ear tag#. Walke Brothers will process your order according to your selection on the cutting card.
Once Walke Brothers has the processing completed, they will call you and let you know your order ready for pickup, usually around 3-4 weeks from drop off date. Once they call you just head over to Walke Brother in Claremore. When picking up your beef, you will pay Walke Brothers for the cost of processing. (Green line in table below)
What does it cost and How much meat do I get?!
This table is a real life example of what you can expect from our beef. Our goal is to have our animals live weight be approx. 1,000 - 1,200 lbs. but due to the nature of dealing with livestock, the final weight may vary.
Looking at the chart, it may appear that beef over $9/lb. is a lot! But the thing to keep in mind is that this applies to everything from ribeye's and filets to ground beef and roasts.
Walke Brothers base pricing is $.90/lb. for processing plus $114 for various fees associate with the process. There may be additional charges incurred for special requests during processing, but this is transparent when you fill our the cutting card.
